It is a deep feminist lesson that lasting progress is built on collaboration. For that reason, each of the Center's initiatives aims to bring diverse people together to address the urgent issues of our time with a focus on the importance of women, gender, and sexuality.
Much of our work brings that attention to gender into Houston's civic life. The Gray/Wawro Lectures in Gender, Health and Well-being and the Marian Fox Martel Distinguished Lectures in Gender and Science bring the world's leading thinkers and senior scholars to Houston. The Graduate Colloquium series helps shape tomorrow's scholars, researchers, and thought leaders. All three series are free and open to the public, largely due to the generosity of our donors. Other initiatives cultivate faculty work, link students and faculty with Houston non-profit organizations, and provide public fora to connect and explore ideas.
We hope you will join these conversations.
