Julie Fette

Julie Fette holds doctorates from the Institute of French Studies at New York University and the Ecole des Hautes Etudes en Sciences Sociales in Paris. Her main research interests are gender, xenophobia, and children's literature. Her monograph, Exclusions: Practicing Prejudice in French Law and Medicine, 1920-1945, was published with Cornell University Press in 2012, and she published an article on women in the medical and legal professions in Third Republic France in the Journal of Women's History. Her current research focuses on representations of gender in contemporary French children's literature. She teaches on modern French history, society, and culture.
