Honors and Distinction

Both Seminar and Practicum projects and Senior Theses are eligible. Students may be nominated by their advisors, or may self-nominate. To receive Distinction the project must be at least 25 pages in length, and the review committee must judge it to be an outstanding and original creative work or research paper.

Please consult the following website for additional information on Distinction in Research and Creative Work: https://ga.rice.edu/undergraduate-students/honors-distinctions/university/

Self-nominating students should complete the following steps:

Ask your non-DUS project advisor to endorse your application; a short email from them is sufficient.

Forward the faculty endorsement to cswgs@rice.edu by close of business on the last Tuesday of spring classes (Apr 21, 2020).

Include in that email the following information:

o Name (as it should be presented in any publicly printed program)

o Student ID number (S000xxxxxx)

o Student email (in NetID@rice.edu form)

o Faculty advisor name(s)

o Project Title (as it should be presented in any publicly printed program)

Email your completed project by close of business on the first day of spring final exams (Apr 29, 2020) to cswgs@rice.edu.

A committee of CSWGS faculty will review the application and render its decision to the CSWGS Director of Undergraduate Studies, who will relay the decision to the applicant and the Office of the Provost.
