Dr. Wildenthal attended Rice as an undergraduate (B.A. History and German, 1987) and received her Ph.D. in history from the University of Michigan in 1994. She came to teach at Rice in 2003 after holding faculty positions at Pitzer College, M.I.T., and Texas A&M University. She is the author of The Language of Human Rights in West Germany (University of Pennsylvania Press, 2012), and German Women for Empire, 1884-1945 (Duke University Press, 2001).
