Asomgyee Pamoja

Asomgyee Pamoja comes to the Board with over 20 years of experience in teaching and administration at the university, not-for-profit and public school level in early childhood education, teacher-training and adult education.  Originally from London, England, he has taught college in Connecticut, NY state and as a volunteer teacher taught Economics, English and Calculus to high school students in Botswana, Africa.

He has presented papers through out the US on topics that range from early childhood education, educational reform, family involvement, the Maafa and permaculture.  He is the owner/operator of Roots Audio Soundstation Hi Fi (RAS Hi Fi), a reggae-based, world music DJ business.  He has served on international, state and local boards in Connecticut, Jamaica, New York State and Texas.

At present, he is an adjunct faculty member within the child development and teacher education department at Houston Community College and serves as the Director of Education and Programs for the Adult Education Center of Pearland. As a graduate fellow, Asomgyee served as President of the Northeast Region order of Omicron Delta Kappa, a community service and academic honor society and is a past Minority Teaching fellow within the Connecticut Community College system. Asomgyee earned his BA in Economics and MS in Early Childhood Education & Violence Prevention from Eastern Connecticut State University.
