Dr. Wildenthal received her Ph.D. from the University of Michigan in 1994, and came to Rice in 2003 after teaching at Pitzer College, M.I.T., and Texas A&M University. She is the author of The Language of Human Rights in West Germany (University of Pennsylvania Press, 2012), and German Women for Empire, 1884-1945 (Duke University Press, 2001). Dr. Wildenthal teaches courses on German history, the history of feminism, and the history of human rights. She also occasionally teaches one of the SWGS introductory courses, Introduction to the Study of Women, Gender, and Sexuality, and regularly offers another 100-level survey, World History since 1492.
